Troy Julian Gipson, an Indianapolis native, works closely with MZD’s various departments to serve the agency’s existing clientele, as well as to identify new opportunities in urban markets.

A former IBM executive, Troy Julian is skilled in marketing, producing and promoting music and film projects, as well as celebrity events and global online projects for a variety of clients including BlackPlanet.com, Viacom and Bad Boy Records (“P Diddy” Combs), Nintendo Games, actress Lisa Raye from the Will Smith-produced show, “All of Us,” Chrysler and the NCAA. He has also worked on projects involving “American Idol” co-host Randy Jackson and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

 

In 2002, Troy co-produced the film, “Something to Cheer About”, which tells the story of the first all-black team to win a high school basketball championship amid the segregated racial disharmony of the 1950s. The teams were led by NBA legend Oscar Robertson.

Previously, Troy Julian served as founder and president of Brilliant Entertainment. In that capacity, he completed numerous projects involving internet strategies for celebrities (in music, TV and film) and professional athletes looking to brand themselves and their products. Among the success he's enjoyed in that role is helping to market a clothing line for the entertainer Nelly.
